Design Questions

What kind of items can you design?
We can produce anything in the general product design field. We can also take care of graphics.
What should we prepare?
Your image/idea will suffice. Of course, price and processing time can be reduced if you provide rough sketches, models, interior structures, etc.
How should we go about making a request?
Please get in touch with us via e-mail or phone.
If you are in the Kansai region, we can also come meet with you.

Scanning Questions

What sizes can you scan?
Generally palm-sized items, but please get in touch with us as it depends on the shape.
Are there any shapes that cannot be scanned?
We cannot scan items that change shape due to their weight. We also cannot scan multi-layered items, as the laser will not penetrate all the way to the back.
What surfaces cannot be scanned?
We cannot scan items with reflective surfaces, such as plated or transparent items. In such instances, we will paint the surface and then scan it.
What data format will the scan be output to?
STL file format. We will stretch the surface with an auto-surface machine and deliver an IGES file.
How should we go about making a request?
Please get in touch with us via e-mail or phone. We can give a more accurate response once we have received images.

3D Modeling Questions

Can data be created without any design blueprints?
We can create data using rough sketches or hand-made models.
What kind of data is required for 3D data creation?
For creating 3D data from 2D design blueprints, we support DXF or DWG formats.
Will you support our request without CAD data?
Yes. The data is provided for an image or 3D viewer.
Can you make data from an actual item or sample?
Yes. We are equipped with scanning equipment.
Can you revise 3D data that we’ve provided?
If you provide parasolid, STEP, or IGES format data, we can support 3D data revision.
How should we go about making a request?
Please get in touch with us via e-mail or phone.

SLA Questions

What material is used for SLA?
We use light yellow and transparent ABS varieties of epoxy ultraviolet curable resin.
What is the difference between SCR735 and TSR829?
Both are ABS. The biggest difference is the color. One is light yellow and the other is transparent.
SCR725 (light yellow) is a general purpose SLA material. TSR829 (transparent) is a durable resin, with greater durability and moisture resistance than SCR735.
How transparent is a transparent photo molding piece?
The photo molding transparency depends on the level of finishing. The degree of transparency is created through laminate polishing and clear coating.
It is possible to increase the degree of transparency so that the interior is visible. In such cases, please tell us what area you would like to be visible. Please contact us in advance.
What is the largest size supported for SLA?
Single piece light yellow photo molded items can be manufactured up to 610 mm x 610 mm x 500 mm.
Transparent resin pieces are limited to 600 mm x 600 mm x 200 mm.
We can support larger items by pasting single items together. Please get in touch with us for such a request.
What is the minimum pitch for SLA?
We support a minimum laminate pitch of 0.05 mm.
What are the dimensions?
A 150 mm corner will be produced up to a ±0.1-0.2% degree of precision. SLA has difficulty achieving precision along the Z axis. Accuracy will depend on the model dimensions and shape. Please get in touch with one of our staff members.
Are there any shapes that cannot be manufactured?
Though it is not possible to express shapes under 0.3 mm, there is virtually no shape that we cannot manufacture.
We can also produce hollow models.
Can we designate molding direction?
Yes. A staff member can also propose a solution that takes the finish and design into account.
Can items be colored?
While the resin itself cannot be colored, paint can be applied to the object. Please get in touch with us.
What finishing methods are there?
We provide support removal and laminate removal.
We can provide your desired finishing method. Please get in touch with one of our staff members for details.
Can we specify surface processing?
We cannot provide specific surface roughness. You can check one of our samples in advance.
Please get in touch with one of our staff members if you have any questions.
Is secondary processing possible?
Yes. We can provide tap, die, and ream processing, among others.
Please get in touch with a member of our staff for any other requests.
How is estimate derived?
There is a basic set fee, but the price will vary depending on the grade of the finish. Please get in touch with a member of our staff for estimate.
How is cost reduced for SLA?
Cost can be reduced by lowering the grade of the finish, ordering a large number of items together, or extending delivery time. Though this depends on size, vacuum cast cost may be reduced by lowering as much as 3 grades.

Vacuum Casting Questions

What kind of material can be used for casting?
We use ABS-like, PP-like, elastomer-like, POM-like vacuum casting polyurethane type resins. In addition to highly durable resins, we can also provide transparent resins.
What is the maximum size for vacuum casting?
We can manufacture up to 500 mm x 500 mm x 500 mm. Depending on the shape, we may be able to support items that are slightly larger as well. Please get in touch with us.
What is the minimum size available for casting?
This depends on the size, so we must verify the 3D data before providing a response.
Approximately how many days does manufacturing take?
This depends on the shape. It generally takes between 7 to 10 days before the product is ready for delivery.
What is the estimated price?
This depends on the shape, so we will provide an estimate for each item.
What degree of durability does the vacuum cast piece have?
The resin used for vacuum casting will turn yellow over a period of years. For details, please get in touch.
How durable are silicone molds?
Depending on the shape, one silicone mold can manufacture 15 to 20 items.
Can vacuum cast items be colored?
Yes. We can provide support for painting/coating separately. We can paint an item that is nearly identical in color to the provided color sample or sample item.
Are there shapes that you cannot cast?
We cannot cast certain shapes that are unable to be reproduced by SLA. Please consult with us before production.
How many pieces can you manufacture?
There is no particular limit. We can support small lot production.
One silicon mold can vacuum cast up to 20 items. This may change depending on the finishing.
Please get in touch with a member of our staff.
Can we provide a master mold?
Yes. In such cases, we may be required to provide base processing (coating, polishing).
Please verify the conditions of the master and consult with us.
Is it possible to cast a single item from several masters?
Yes. Please consult with us, as we must verify the shape.
Is drafting required?
Drafting is not required for silicone casts.
Is a cost incurred for additional items? (Item Retention Period)
Silicone casts will last for up to 3 months (within 20 shots). This depends on the state of the cast at time of additional order. If within 3 months, we can provide the cast for a single unit price.
Can we provide the material for casting?
We will do our best to work with any materials you would like to provide. Though there are some materials we are unable to work with, please get in touch with us to discuss your needs.

CT Scan Questions

In what format is scan data output?
We can provide STL, and intermediary files such as STEP, and parasolid.
Do you provide an hourly equipment rental service? (Can we operate equipment on our own?)
We do not provide such a service.
Can we observe the CT scan process?
Yes. Please get in touch with us about your needs.

Other Questions

Can the degree of precision for fitting parts be increased if we provide instruction?
We will verify and adjust the fit for any fitting parts provided.
Can you provide roughness/flatness/parallelism that corresponds with the provided design blueprints?
Though it is difficult to provide numerical degrees of precision, we can provide items with roughness that are nearly identical to the provided sample.
Can you provide mass production?
We can provide limited mass production. Please get in touch with a staff member for details.
What kind of manufacturing experience do you have (industries, etc.)?
We have received orders from a range of industries, including medical, automotive, industrial machinery, home appliances, and amusement-related fields.
