We can provide prototypes not only of the exterior, but of internal structures and control systems as well. We have established the necessary system for medical devices that combine various underlying technologies. We can verified operations under the same conditions as mass-produced products (made via laser etching), measure and evaluate the interior dimensions using an accurate X-ray CT 3D measuring instrument, and provide non-destructive inspection and 3D shape evaluation.

Promotion

We can produce mockup models for display at expositions and conferences using the same material and coloring as the actual product. In addition, we can produce graphic designs (package design, promotional designs) for the corresponding product. We provide the promotional support to guide your device from the development stage to the commercial stage.

Production

crossEffect not only handles prototypes, we also have an optimal support system for mass production. In instances where your initial mass production or small volume multi-product lot is not on time, we can provide quick-delivery manufacturing through casting and laser etching. In addition, we take advantage of our manufacturing networks — starting with Kyoto Shisaku Net — to coordinate with enterprises supporting mass production.

Heart Model for Surgical Training

crossEffect’s cultivated technological know-how — such as laser etching and vacuum casting — was applied to the medical field. This flexible model was created based on CT data of an actual heart, and faithfully reproduces the internal structuring.

This model is for coronary artery bypass training. This “Beating Heart Model” 3D model is equipped with a pulsating device to support doctors aiming to improve their surgical skills.

Laser Etching, Vacuum Casting, Rapid Prototyping Technology

Precise 3D data is constructed from CT data. A master mold is created using silicon resin and laser etching. Organ models using ultra-soft resin are produced from vacuum casting. Various organ models can be produced, starting with the heart. We use rapid prototyping technology for prototyping these medical devices, which are required to be durable.

Our company utilizes a METROTOM 800 10kv precision X-ray CT 3D measuring instrument by German company Carl Zeiss. We provide support for non-destructive inspection of internal structure, and verification of the required precision of the medical device.
